Effective March 11, 2007, the steamship companies will be raising its fuel surcharge in Hawaii by two (2) percentage points, from 17.5% to 19.5%. Our freight bills will reflect this increase accordingly.

Effective November 5, 2006, the steamship lines will be decreasing their bunker oil fuel surcharge by 1%, changing from 19.75% to 18.75%. Our freight bills will reflect this decrease and we will continue to monitor and adjust our charges accordingly.

Effective October 2nd, Matson and Horizon Lines have announced a decrease to their bunker oil fuel surcharge from 21.25 to 19.75%.  This Fuel Surcharge will remain in effect until their next evaluation. Our Honolulu Freight Service freight bills will reflect this decrease too.

Cargo Expert Fred Faria Joins Honolulu Freight Service
Enables Oversized Cargo Services to Hawaii, Guam, Micronesia, Polynesia and Southeast Asia
Seattle, Wash., May 2006 – Honolulu Freight Service, the largest and oldest dry and refrigerated cargo surface freight forwarder to and from the Hawaiian Islands, announced that it has named Fred Faria manager of HFS Specialized Cargo, Honolulu Freight’s newest freight division.  Under Faria’s leadership, the HFS Specialized Cargo Division enables Honolulu Freight to offer services for shipments that are oversized and beyond the confines of a container, and will be available initially between the North American Continent and the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, Micronesia, Polynesia, and Southeast Asia.  See Full Article
